In 1861, Arapahoe county was named after a Native American tribe that existed and lived east of Denver.  Arapahoe is experiencing major growth with 90% increase in new construction with apartments and other multi-family units.

Two of the most afflluent neighborhoods in the Denver Metro Area, Cherry Hills Village and Greenwood Village are located in the southern portion of the county.  Arapahoe county has 80 parks and 5 public golf courses.  The following neighborhoods are found within the Arapahoe county borders:  Aurora, Centennial, Englewood, Glendale, Greenwood Village, and Littleton.
